This week I’m joined by co-founder of the IDS and former co-host, Tee Quillin, via Skype as we chat about his directing gig for the summer. He’s headed west to Palm Springs, CA and he is directing Hot Mikado at Palm Canyon Theatre. Enjoy!!
Paying the Rent:
From Palm Canyon Theatre:
Fusing Eastern and Western culture with a 1940’s big band twist, Hot Mikado swings into Palm Springs with a side-splitting story. The tale features Ko-Ko, the reluctant Lord High Executioner, Nanki-Poo, a disguised prince fleeing his arranged marriage, and Yum-Yum, a woman they both love. The hilarious complications that ensue turn this satire into a hot American mix of jazz, gospel, and vaudeville.
